The Casita Information Center was constructed
during World War II. This served as a bar for
the soldiers who disembark by that area. One
says that one of the soldiers fell in love with
the disable woman, who took care of the bar
(waiter), and thereafter became married. Soon
she died and he built a monument to her. This
monument is a fountain localized next to La
Casita and says Chavín Memorial.
La Casita was used as a telegraph
office in the 60s. Eventually it was recognized
as La Casita Information Center.
